El Triunfo is a two-hectare farm nestled in the hills of Santa María, Huila, at 1750 masl. It was founded just seven years ago by Nicolás Ome, a lifelong agricultural worker who lives on the farm with his wife and children. After years managing another estate, Nicolás was offered the chance to purchase a small piece of land from his former employer—and he’s been building his own project ever since. His approach is grounded in community, sustainability, and high-quality coffee production.
We were introduced to Nicolás by Yonatan from Cuatro Vientos, our longtime export partner in Huila. Yonatan shares our focus on sourcing characterful coffees from committed producers and knew Nicolás’s work would resonate with us. Our collaboration started in 2024 and quickly led to the selection of this washed Castillo lot for our Moon Safari series—a line that highlights coffees with round structure, sweet flavor, and soft acidity.

El Triunfo
El Triunfo benefits from rich volcanic soils, lush native vegetation, and a stable, cool climate thanks to its proximity to the Nevado del Huila. These conditions help cherries ripen slowly, concentrating sweetness and clarity in the cup. Nicolás cultivates Castillo, and also grows small amounts of Pink Bourbon and Papayo—both prized for their unique profiles.
True to his collaborative spirit, Nicolás also supports neighboring farmers, many of whom have small plots and rely on him for processing. His recent investment in a Guardiola mechanical dryer allows him to offer consistent drying conditions, ensuring quality and stability for both his coffees and those of his peers.
