The first time we cupped and selected this exceptional Kanjathi AA was during the auction season in 2025 in Nairobi and it is already back for the second time. Grown on the fertile soils of Kenya’s central highlands and washed by the experienced Kanjathi Factory. It's a sweet and vibrant cup with notes of mandarin, yellow kiwi and almond.

KANJATHI AA​

Kanjathi Factory, established in the 1960s, is a Kenyan washing station in Murang'a's fertile highlands, growing SL28, SL34, and Ruiru 11.

KANJATHI AA

The Kanjathi Factory was established in the 1960s and is one of five washing stations that are operated by the Kangiri Farmers’ Cooperative Society (FCS). It is located in Kigumo Sub County in Murang'a County, on the slopes of the Aberdare Ranges. Murang'a lies around 120 km northwest of Nairobi and benefits from the cool weather and fertile soils of Kenya’s central highlands. Producer members in Kanjathi Factory cultivate primarily SL28, SL34 and Ruiru 11, along with some Batian. The FCS encourages a sustainable approach to cultivation, with minimal environmental impact.

Water: Soft water (90ppm) at 93° C

Coffee dose: 17.5g

Espresso in cup: 40g

Extraction time: 32 sec
