Ahmed manages quality at Adorsi, a washing station in Aricha that sources cherry from over a thousand smallholder farmers in Yirgacheffe.
ARICHA ADORSI STATION
Adorsi is a washing station in Aricha, Yirgacheffe. It sources cherry from over 1000 smallholder farmers in the area. We visited in October 2025 and met Ahmed, their quality manager. The station sits at 1950 masl and draws cherry from plots as high as 2300 masl. At that altitude, cherries ripen slowly and build sweetness. The station pays a premium for riper cherry, which gives farmers a reason to pick more carefully. Cherry is sorted and dried naturally on raised beds until it reaches 12.5% humidity. In this jammy and fruity cup, we taste apricot, tangerine, honey and elderflower.
